You’ll find me at the intersection of design, interaction and data. Looking around, taking it all in. Probably drawing and making things on the computer. I’ve taken a few different roads in the last 20 years - in user interface, marketing CX and design leadership - and each has led me back to this neighbourhood. I love it here; it can be noisy and frenetic and then thoughtful and soothing. And that’s precisely the point, isn’t it? (I also run Freewheel Weekends.)
My approach to creating and collaborating is not revolutionary. It’s based on proven methodologies and experience. This is an overview.
Let’s work to uncover the root cause of what’s going on, making sure it’s the real problem. Then agree on a process, how it will be delivered and measured.
I watch people, ask them questions, find similes and metaphors, ask my mum, rally a brains trust. I document everything. Then whittle and refine.
Putting pen to paper. Literally - Artline hits Moleskine. I scribble and write lists and I connect boxes with arrows. I rationalise with feeling.
Prototypes. Bringing the premise to life. A wireframe whipper-snapper that acts like one of the grown-ups.
Bringing the output to the people that matter; the people who use it and those who understand it best.
Using data – from machines and people - to continually evaluate and improve. Collating and formulating how feedback can be introduced.
If you want to shoot me an email you can do that right here. (Just genuine, authentic humans please.)
