Corporate communications and marketing.

Database breaches are never from the headlines and it seems largescale hacks are a daily occurrence.

Cirro was a multifaceted challenger in the database security field and pitched itself as a self-service security and management product. (It’s since pivoted into security-only product, mamori.io.)

Spending a year at Cirro, as the one-person corporate communications and marketing team, I covered a lot of ground.

Marketing and CX

I knew the value of getting a few key functions up and running. Implementing (or updating) these saved time, gathered data and provided a good experience.

Gateways – I created an asset gateway for our whitepapers and datasheets. This captures prospect details and triggered a follow up for the sales team (Hubspot).

Triggered emails – Triggered emails were refined and further developed (Sign-up emails, Welcome email, Password reset) (SendGrid).

Release email – A product release template email was created and used (Act-on).

Asset library – Everyone was given access to a new library housing corporate assets and standardised Office templates (Google Sites).

Updating the website and recreating the blog

After a phase of consultation and research, I began design a one-page website for Cirro. It answered product questions and guided users to the product. I undertook the web development too – uncharacteristically installing my first VM and opening a shiney new GitHub account. Having direct access to the site allow us to make changes and adapt to client requests and user needs. The existing blog posts – written by a DB veteran – were rehoused in a new blog (Jekyll).

Print collateral

The business required materials like event banners, brochures, flyers and print templates. These were designed on-brand and contained a campaign message too. Banners and brochures had ideas and unique messaging. Concepts to capture attention and get people thinking about data security.

Cirro allowed me to flex my branding and communication muscles. We achieved a refined look, built a lead gen program and raised awareness about the product.
